[ Much more tightly, particularly given she was ready to break immediately and apologize to him for her indulgence. But then she's hugged back and now she needs to manage her super strength so as to not, well, hurt him or anything. As a result her grip probably feels a little bit loose. ]
[Well, that's... A little confusing, but it isn't like it's bad, either, although after a good amount of time hugging on the floor he's had his fill and pulls away to look at her instead.]
Sorry for disappearing like that. What did I miss?
A few people got split into groups of ten or so, called to locations by Retrospec if we accepted a call out as teams. We got named after drinks and I got put on Brandywine. Mine had twelve people including me, and we got assigned to this hidden room under RU.
From there we poked around until we activated a terminal to get in touch with some administrator woman, and then spent the next two weeks getting into a mess trying to find the head of security in a library.
He's a cyborg over six feet tall. Also made it sound like the there's some new director that's got them being more hands on, based on his parting line.
Eeesh, at least try to be picky when someone offers you something nice. Ahwell, let's go to the kitchen then.
[ She will make him the best possible thing!! What... is Soyo... Well, she's pretty sure she's got a fair bit of rice? Did she have any meat on hand here? Fish? She honestly doesn't remember, given how much of a blur the last month was. Maybe she should order in?
... No, she's making it, it's a matter of pride now. ]
[...Maybe he should just tell her? It will save her the work, and it's not like he has to pay for it. On the other hand, she might take that as a slight to her cooking, and Tisse is a long way out. It's not like he can't just go tomorrow, either. ...Or some other time, given the current state of affairs.
Besides, this is free food, and Elda's a really good cook. This is a win/win for him.]
Elda? Is cooking hard?
[...That's the conversation he's decided to have with her while he watches her cook.]
... She actually laughs at that. Yes, she does indeed have rice and she has some eggs and vegetables and not a lot of chicken. Solution on hand? She's going to make some home made fried rice, starting with getting the rice cooked up nice and then moving on. So this part? No. The rest of it'll be more flashy. ]
Not really! I mean, once you experiment a little, it can be pretty fun.
Who's wonky enough with cooking they burn themselves? I mean sure when you're starting making things and your timing isn't great you might burn this or that, but yourself?

He's pretty old school, I guess.

[Although he can't imagine it being as bad as getting set on fire by that lizard... Or a lot of other things, at this point.]
Or burn your food?

[Look cooking sounds sort of hardcore when you've never tried it before in your life, alright-]

[ . . . Wow. She exhales, going to work on chopping vegetables ]
That's not going to happen unless you're being careless.

[...Silver these are questions to ask after someone is done cooking, not while they're trying to focus-]

[ Okay she's giving up on these vegetables here with a snort because this conversation is going to fuck up her chopping. Oh, wait.
Is the rice done? No, not yet. ]
