[ Elda Marker is here too - designer sunglasses and all. The small woman's shoulder length purple hair is done up in a little ponytail today, mostly because she's going practical. This shop happens to have the high end inking pens that she wanted. She's always been a bit of a sketch artist more than anything - hobby more than calling - but she's been...

Well, it's been a good way to try to give form to the memories she's been getting. And a part of her wants to refine on one particular one in the back of her book, see if she can't make it a more proper drawing. To that end, she's also considering working out toner...

The point is, she's here. She also needs a new sketch book. ]

[Sakura keeps her nose in the bargain bin until it's time to surface for air, and while she's never seen Elda in person, purple hair does tend to stick out. Her eyes settle on the older woman for a couple of beats before her eyebrows arch in surprise]

... Marker-san?

[ Tuuuurn. Wait, which one is this. She'd see... oh, she's seen her once, last month. And then the profile and... ]

Oh, you're that Tohsaka girl, right?

Yes! Sakura Tohsaka.

[That Elda recognized her is a pleasant surprise. Free hand brushing some of her hair behind her ear, she turns more fully to chat with her.]

Do you happen to draw as well? [Or maybe she knits, or designs holiday cards or something... there's a little bit of everything "crafty" in this store.]

Yes - I've hobby-sketched most of my life... and... I suppose it's a little bit of a juxtaposition, but in the last few months I've been doing it more as a way to sort through the memories I've received because of Retrospec.

[ Her cheeks color a little at the admission, but it was never really a Secret so she's got no real reason to hide it. The small woman does laugh somewhat sheepishly though. ]

... That's a really good idea.

[One Sakura hadn't considered, and she throws a contemplative stare at the fist of supplies she'd fished out from the bargain bin.]

Has it been helping like you'd hoped?

It's given me a somewhat better grasp on the players involved. I can't recall all of their names or relation to me... her? Perfectly, but I can pretty clearly picture their faces and how they interact with each other.

[ So... that's something, at least? ]

I'm glad it's helped... [A slight hum] Maybe I should try that myself.

[The idea certainly has merit, after all, and even with her limited memories. She wouldn't mind putting faces to a canvas, either]

Not that I have enough memories to make good use out of the technique, but I could always use the extra practice, anyway. [A little shrug as she glances down at the watercolors she might buy]

Oh I'd certainly hope not. You've only been on this app a short time now.

[ If she had enough to need the technique... well, she shakes her head, humming a little bit as she picks out some nicer pens. ]

You're an artist? Hobbyist or trying to make something of it?

Yes! I'm hoping to go to the art program here at Recollé U.

[Art's one of her passions, as niche as her drawings tend to be. She visibly brightens as they steer away from talk of memories]

I wouldn't say I'm good, per se, but I do want to learn. And honestly, I don't know what else I'd go to college for.

[ . . . Don't ask if she's taking loan that's something that she can handle herself bites cheek and nods ]

Well, that's understandable! Honestly, I was the same. I ultimately finished most of a nursing degree after a lot of waffling.

Aaaah, you waffled too, Marker-san?

[She's kinda surprised since Elda doesn't seem the waffling type. But in hindsight, that's probably because she assumes all adults have their lives together.]

I admit, I didn't even go to college as early as I could've... I'm almost nineteen but probably won't go until the spring. [She doesn't sound guilty, at least.] Though maybe I should keep putting it off for now...?

That's not really something to be asking a stranger. To begin with, I was born, raised, and went to college all in this one city.

[ she laughs it off, but then pushes up her sunglasses, glad that this covers some of her face and thus is going to prevent her from taking so much - exposing some about if she's a little flustered. So instead... ]

If you're asking me though, it seems to me that unless the economics of it are going to ruin you, you already committed to moving out here, right? Might as well just go for it, unless you came here for some other reason.

[Though she agrees with Elda, Sakura's so starved for advice she's willing to ask anyone at this point. Really, why does life demand kids these days rush into debt?]

You're right, of course. I find this city charming in its own way -- well, the strangeness aside.

[That goes without saying]

And it'd make my parents happy, so...

[Mmmm but that is not a conversation she wants to have. MOVING ON]

Have you been to this place before? Their watercolors are pretty neat! [Proudly showing off her finds? It's cheap, but the pigment looks pretty good.]

[ Elda's smile is warm there, willing to go on... but also somewhat grateful to branch off from it. But at that question, under the sunglasses, she brightens up. ]

Oh yes. I've picked up my sketch books and ink pens here for years. A few years back when I tried my hand at painting I got them here too, but I confess I was never any good at that.

[ She looks a little sheepish, waving a hand with a pen in it. ]

I've never advanced beyond inking, myself.
